Our Sunday Photo Success(es) .. Kinda Sorta Not Really.

lol wanted to take a few of my mom (Grandma) with my son while she was here visiting from Florida for the weekend.. it went well as you can see here: (flickr sharpening strikes again but oh well)

So my friend's daughter had to show Jordan (my son) how this whole one and done photo thing is done..

And my friend dragged her husband and older son out for a quick family photo in their matching Dolphin's attire.. he was a typical man who didn't want to be photographed.. wasn't having a second try at a pose. I wanted the boy on his side, and in hindsight I probably should have just done it that way.. but he's not his biologically and though I think they have a great relationship I was just a little nervous on that.

Well you shot in the shade which gave you fairly even light, but to me the images look a little on the flat side. To my own personal taste I would brighten them up and do some dodging and burning to add some depth. With that I think you'd have some nice family portraits

Well I got my computer I normally edit on back in working order today and wow.. yeah, those edits were awful. lol Do these look better?

The recent edits look way too bright in my opinion. I'm kinda wishing your son's face was a little more visible in the first shots with Gma, but kids aren't always the most cooperative models. I absolutely love the shot of the little girl in the tee-pee. That one is adorable.

and I simply must say that your mom is a beautiful woman
How old is she? and you don't have to answer that... but really it's something about her, her energy, her posture... She's the only "thing" I've noticed about the photos
How about a photo session with just your mom?

These all seem horrifically off color to me.
Whether they originated this way, I have no idea
I tried edits in Lab mode and this one below seems better.
It still seems very flat and noisy - probably due to the deep shade and perhaps the tint of refelcted color.

I think what I probably would have done would be to have him hold the little one in his right arm and wrap his left around his lovely lady. Also, I would've made them all trade the dolphins shirts for pats shirts, but i suppose not everyone can have good taste

Umm thanks? Lol I'm 27 and she had me at 28. You can do the math.
