I looked out at my way back lawn and saw this strange 'path' in the grass.
It started at the near arrow and ended at a flower bed.

It almost looks like a flattened groove left by a hose but there hasn't been a hose back there and it has rained two or three times since I've even walked there.

Any ideas what it might have caused or made it?

my best guess would be sand people.
they always walk single file to hide their numbers.

Maybe a mole. Just a guess.

Could be fremen too - they wiggle as they erratically walk so that it doesn't call the sandworms!

Otherwise the mark could be caused by any living creature that passed through with a wriggle; could be a large rodent (rat - or similar sized creature) or even a snake. If its a regularly used pathway an animal will flatten it over time if its used often.

i didnt see any thumpers so...can probably rule out fremen.

Agree with possible mole

Do you have a scooting dog? :P

No, but I'm fairly certain it isn't dangerous.
My wife comes awake with a start if a cricket hops under the door of the garage so her spidey sense would have raised an alarm.
My guess is that this is just one of the mysterious unknowable threads in the vast tapestry of life, like why I got married again or why Jennifer Anniston has never called me back (even though I've left a message many times.)

This is my guess...

Ground hog probably. Moles will move through the grass.

I'm going with.. SKUNK!!
