Over-Exposure?

I'm not a more experienced photographer but I'd say an exposure level inbetween these two would be best. The "more suitable" shot seems a bit too dark to my eyes but the overexposed one looks far too bright.

Im not a fan of over exposure but, some people may like it. The other is nicee though exposure wise.

what were you trying to achieve with the overexposure?

In the overexposed photo, you can tell that the letters on the cone are clipping hardcore. You might try taking the second one and playing with it in photoshop using curves instead to get a similar but more natural look.
