Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok new here and my second post this is my photo shoot with my
Paintball "markers" (see there is no "gun", guns shoot bullets and shells markers....well mark :D)

This is my first jump into SLR photography and actually try to learn as much as I can at the moment.
So any advice AT ALL will help (doesn't matter if you hate the photos, it will make me strive to get better :D)

So here it is
a couple at the bottom will be from my Iphone but thought they were really good.
(most of these are not edited at all a couple are and the iphone ones you just select a filter so no editing it was how the pic was taking)

Probably a little to pic intensive for most people on this site. Nothing is numbered. overall i think they just look like average pictures. Some of them edited like hipstamatic?

um, that one, it was okay. THe others aren't so hot. (this is what you get when you post 230948723 pictures that aren't numbered)

ok fixed the numbers and #5 #6 #7 are the only edited photos here
just brought that saturation up a bit

Way too much saturation in some of the photos. I would also steer clear of insta-effects such as the faux lomography and old timey effects. It just seems....desperate. I hate to put it that way. It makes me think that you're trying to cover up for a poor/mediocre photograph by using dramatic editing, even if that's not the case. I also think that the composition is rather average on many of these. It just doesn't make me stop and enjoy the picture. It doesn't look like there was much thought put into the photos with poor composition. The second photo with the actual person in it is also kind of....mediocre....

It's obvious that you used the on-camera flash in order to illuminate him, but unless you want these to be considered "facebook snapshots", I would really try to steer clear of using the on-camera flash in these situations. It can be good for fill-flash; sometimes you can slightly over-expose an image with the flash and it smooths out the subject's skin, but it just isn't flattering for these pictures.

thanks for CC and some info i will keep in mind
and no editing except 5, 6, 7, and the only done to those were bring that saturation up a bit
and for the person my GF just took the picture of my self in my gear
i thought with the saturation up it would let the Camo show up a bit better (plus this was a quick shot from my hall)
and no flash the house light was directly above me

you really shouldn't use the blur tool, unless you really know how to use it

you don't, and completely destroyed the second one

as mentioned the saturation is way too high in most of them

compositional thought is non-existant

they seem to be some poorly edited snapshots

2) just say no to that kind of fake blur
3) It looks like a picture that somebody took with their point and shoot for a craigslist ad. What were you trying to get across here? Also, you need more DOF, both the front and back of the subject are out of focus.
4)front of the gun is out of focus. again, looks like a craigslist ad picture for the gun.
5) oversaturated, another craigslist gun ad. underexposed, front and back of gun are out of focus
6) I sort of like this one. an interesting perspective. THe front being out of focus here is okay, because it's so extreme.
7) see comments on 3,4,5

t

the light was clearly not above you

and is way too direct, and harsh to be anything but a flash, or floodlight placed exactly in line with the camera

2) Ya i figured so will keep that in mind
3) Im on a ton of paintball forums so this was a model shot not ment to get anything across here except the marker it self
not many ppl put paintball markers into wood rifle stocks
4) yup agree with that
5) over saturated yes..but it brings out the wood which I like
6) thanks

and @marmots ya it was a flash i can see it in my lense
but again this was my GF taking a quick pic of my OTW CADPAT shirt so wasnt doing a full shoot

If these are just for showing the gun on a paintball forum, why are you asking for critique on a photography forum? They're passable for showing off the gun, they're mediocre to bad as photography. All pictures aren't photography, nor are they necessarily meant to be.

if you want i could do an edit to bring out the wood nicely, and just all around make it nicer

but i need to ask you seeing how you have editing set to not ok

This was the shots I had from the weekend of my markers (shot FOR my forum) and thought since I was throwing it up on paintball
forums why not post these in a photo forum for some critque and thoughts?
this is the begginers section right......

Brand new to photography, or brushing up on some of the basics? Don’t be shy! Talk to other beginners and ask all your basic photographic questions here. Show us some of the photos you have taken so far and get some review - so you can learn where there is room for improvement!

So I'm new.....looks like I should be here ,maybe not I am wrong?
and I now asked for critique which is what you gave me
and looking for what to improve on (which acording to your last post is alot)

is there a problem in that?

ya that would be cool man would you like the orginal pic or just that pic there?
thanks!
