Has anyone tried to use Panorama Plus x4? I usually use AutoStitch and/or Hugin with decent results. I was referred to this program by a gentleman at the photography shop in town and he told me he'd had great luck with it. I have never heard of it, but for 20 bucks, it might be worth a shot. I've used the freebie stitching programs from Canon and Microsoft, but like AutoStitch and Hugin better. Anyone care to recommend any other program? Thanks!

I have it and version 3 as well. My classes use it all the time.

What OS are you using? I had issues with x4 with XP and issues with x3 with windows 7. when i used the "correct version" with the "correct OS" no problems

In fact this morning my students used it to stitch together today's assignment.

It is using a base program from AutoSititch.

I'm running Windows Home Premium w/service pack 2 update installed. I will have to check into the specs for the x4 version to see if I might run into any issues. That might have been why a few people on amazon reviews reported operating issues.
What do you mean 'a base program from AutoStitch'? Is one better than the other or are they pretty much the same with only a few differences?

Sounds like you are a photography teacher...I really appreciate your help!

Autostitch has liscensed their software to several companies, Serif being one of them. Serif has "tweak" the program, or that is my understanding when i called and asked them about the situtuation

You can probably find a copy of vs. 3 on ebay for little money. They , mean Serif also have a free download copy available. Here is the link
Photo Stitching Software – PanoramaPlus Starter Edition from Serif they call it a starter edition, not sure what that means, but one of my students did try it and was pleased.

For all who have a copy of Adobe Photoshop go to --> file --> automate --> photo merge and there you have what you need for a Panorama, and for the once who are shooting in RAW you can sent your RAW files directly from Adobe Bridge to PS photo merge. Photo merge places all your single shots into layers and is very good in finding the hotspots, okay you have to follow the panorama rules to get a very good result.

I wasn't happy with the job that PS did for my panos. lots of banding . However, I was using CS2 and perhaps that function has gotten better with newer versions

I do not have Photoshop. I have Corel PaintShop Pro x4. It will do a panorama, but it's not automated. You opaque one image and move it around until it lines up over the next one. It's a pain and the results are not good. I downloaded ICE, it does a good job for free software. I also was told about Panorama Maker 6 yesterday, never heard of that one. It's a little pricey at $80, but there is a 40% off sale through Facebook until Nov 1. $47.99 is still a bit rich, but better than $80. Anyone had good luck with Panorama Maker 6?

I also would like to order PhotoMatrix for HDR photos. I plan to do the bulk of editing, raw converting, etc in PSP. Do I really need the Pro version with all the bells and whistles or will the Light/Essentials do just as good a job blending the HDR and leave the rest of any post production to PSP?
Thanks!!
