I have a row of flowering pear trees I planted 8 years ago that I like to photograph each spring when they blossom. I brought them home in the back of my sedan in 2012 as saplings and now they are taller than my house.
I try to take a different approach each time to keep it interesting. This year I decided to shoot in the early afternoon on a sunny day, and used a bigger strobe (400Ws) to overpower the sun. I opted to leave the background very dark and mottled rather than pushing it to completely black.
Nikon D500 with 85mm f/1.8 lens
85mm, f/11, 1/250s, ISO 100
Flashpoint Xplor 400 Pro in a gridded 10"x 24" stripbox just above and slightly camera right to add some dimension
