What lens did you use? That first one really has a lot of chromatic aberration in places. I don't see it in the second but it's really noticeable in the first.

Look at the limb in the top left corner of the first image. See how it's purple (magenta) on one side and green on the other? That's lateral chromatic aberration. It's also visible on some of the other limbs and on the bird's left shoulder. The odd thing is that I don't see any in the second shot and I assume they were taken at much the same time so the light and cropping should have been pretty much the same.


Regardless, they are beautiful birds and I didn't mean to hijack your post with that.

I know why you see it in one and not the other. When I processed the first one I played with the vibrance in aperture cause the sky was a little grayish. That doesn't even show up on my screen it all looks blue to me. Thanks for letting me know. Also the second one just cropped it down.
