On recent visit to the Amazon we had a female spider living aboard our boat. Her job was pest control.
She did a great job.

It is usually pretty obvious! The Males don't usually have lipstick on!

My first trip to the Amazon, thought animal recognition might be useful . The little pink booties give the female away.
When I first saw her in the galley I was distressed.................

Do you have any idea how hard it is to hold a Tarantula and paint her little feet......................

Very common species in some parts of the world, and the genders are easily identified!
