Phoneless, Planless - what to do?

I use an unlocked iPhone 5S as my travel phone. I use an English Sim and phone plan which gives me phone, text and 4G data over there, and phone, text and 3G data in the US. I can switch the Sim out for a US one to get full LTE over here.

eBay usually has a section under "Deals" on used and refurbished smartphones. They tend to be older, unlocked models. I don't know about phone plans for them though.
