Photo quality issues

I loaded up this picture on my blog and online it looks so much grainier than it really is. I because the company who offers the blog is compressing them? I loaded it up on photobucket and the problem is gone.

Yes I would agree that the picture on your blog is much more noisy and compressed than the one off Photobucket. Like you said, it is probably because the servers are compressing the picture.

Is it possible your blog is doing some kind of automatic sharpening of the images? The grain doesn't really look like compression, it looks like over-sharpening.

Just create a picture that is reduced underneath the point where your blog software affects your pics or if you need to display pics on your blog, link them in from somewhere else.

this pic here looks terrible online as well, very oversharpened..i wanted to add the link to the blog but then theres issues with the size..i might as well say screw this blog soon and get me a website..

it looks like the server puts a cheesy photoshop filter on everything
