Photo software to enable face tags???

Hello,

I'm new here. I have a Nikon D70s and I love photos.

I am just now starting a photo website for my local area boating community.

So here is what I'm trying to find out....
I would like to host a big photo website and would like to give people the ability to TAG photos.

You know, if you upload a photo on Facebook you can tag a person's face and input their name. I love this feature but I want to host my own site and not be beholden to Facebook. (that site might not even be around in ten years).

Do any of you know of software that I can put on my GoDaddy account....OR load into my own server that would enable photo face tagging???

Are you talking offline tagging in local software....or online tagging that someone could do if visiting the website?

You see, I'm looking to give other people the ability to tag subjects in photos...since I will be hosting photos of a bunch of people I don't know.

elements will allow you to set up a web site with face tagging (the program will allow this not sure if they can do it online)

iPhoto & Picasa both have face tagging features but I have no idea if it will convey on a website.
