"Crop Factor" - for some reason fauxtographers seem to think that their 50mm lens will magically grow into a 75mm lens by putting a DX sensor behind it.

"Post Production" re: photograph editing
Isn't editing part of the production process?

Post production....as in after the photo has been created. Pre-production would be the things you do before the shot is actually taken (lighting etc.)
As a whole, you could just call it the production process...but I think it's perfectly valid to differentiate pre from post.

This thread cracks me up. I am glad the only one I use is "shoot."

The "snaps" or "quick shot" irritates me all the time but when someone asks for C&C on a quick snap it really gets me. I just don't get it, it immediately puts a negative thought about the image. If someone wants critique on a photograph I should have the feeling they put more time into creating it then it will take for critique.

Call it a snapshot and if people give it a bad critique they can go off saying, "well it was just a snapshot". Now if they come in saying this is my best photo and it gets horrible critiques there ego takes a ding

I have one! Or several that stem from the same thought.

"I'm getting more serious about this photography thing."

It's not a thing. It's photography. Saying this just makes you sound less serious. It ranks right up there with people who aren't photographers saying, "So you're good at taking pictures?"

That was said to me today, although I was somewhat complimented by her previous statement asking if my friend took them (she's amazing, I really love what she does with newborn/baby portraits. Not spam, check her out if you'd like: Jessica Simpson Photography).

Dang it...I was hoping to see pictures OF Jessica SIMPSON...you know, the famous one...the singer/actress/former-reality-TV-star/new mommy/celeb/mom-jeans-wearin', Tony Romo-ruinin' blonde former hottie...but noooooo....
