Are their any help links for photoscape so I can learn the basics ?

they did have a series of videos that will show what each function will do.

it is pretty straight forward, altho , as i remember the dust removing funtion was called mole. go figure.

I just downloaded the newest version. At the bottom of the "wheel" of options, there are 4 boxes, click on the first one and there you will find a whole series of questions and what appears to be videos answering those questions.
