Photoshop help with this image please

Can someone tell me how to either remove or blur (even more) the background of this image? I have only some basic skills in Photoshop and I really don't know what to do here.

Topaz Remask 3 Plugin works really well for this sort of thing:

I dropped out the background, but once you get the mask, you can do whatever you want.

Of course, you can create the mask on your own in PS, but that can take some time and effort, especially for stuff with hairy edges like this, and especially if you don't have much experience with it. A plugin like this is quick and easy.

It seems like a good piece of software. Can you replace the white space with something else? Is there a way to further blur the background so it's not recognizable? Thanks for the help.

another way, using photoshop quickmask and with a soft brush, brush the edges of the dog and the background. exit quickmask and use gaussian blur to blur the background.

Reshoot it with a better background - you clipped the dogs ear
