i hate using photoshop tools (i've only ever done it once before this), but it was really tempting for this photo.

k that's really subtle photoshop work there. But I have to say that I prefer the PS'd version. Mainly because it brings the blown out bits on the bird back down. It helps on the leaves too.

Why did you take the yellow off the beak? I'm assuming to make it look more 'dead' and to blend in with the dirt. If that's what you're going for can I suggest having the flowers in focus. I reckon then the bird wouldn't be as obvious and you'd have to sort of look for it. Does that make sense?
