I was asked to take pics of her and her daughter. I am still trying to get exposure and color correct. I have not calibrated my monitor and have done a few different things to try and make it as good as I can without getting the calibration tool.

So without further adieu.

Im still new at this but the background is very distracting for a portrait, lots of textures. I would have had them stand a few feet away from the stone wall and use a wide f stop to separate them from the background and make it look smooth a creamy

Fair enough. You both make good points. I will keep that in mind for future shoots. How is the exposure and color?

Exposure and color look good. Nice work not blowing out the white shirt or flower.

Total agreement on the background being far too strong for the subjects.

Color looks fine. Bump it up about half a step on the exposure and you have a winner

Having that brilliant white sweater will really pull the eyes.
try more subdued colors so the attention is on the faces.
