Island Island ( 1962 ) by Aldous Huxley by Aldous Huxley....or perhaps slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut.

Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse 5, Sirens of Titan, eeks, I've read all of them. It's been years since I've opened a book, litterally. Who has time for a book since the laptop was invented
