What's new

Picnik anybody?

Never used it; looks like it might be handy in a pinch, but I wouldn't think it would be good for more than the most basic work.

Its usually what teenagers use to write crap all over their pictures.

You can try the free version on facebook.

I have a Picnik account. I don't use it a whole bunch, but every so often I get a wild hair us my arse to decorate some photos. It's definitely good for that.

But it's not something you want for serious editing work, although there are "advanced" editing settings with a paid account.

I used it for the first couple of weeks I had my camera before I got Lightroom. Works fine for basic editing. Maybe the paid account would give you something better. But going back to it, it seems pretty mediocre.

I sometimes use it - Flickr sometimes alters the colour slightly on some images and Piknic is built in to Flickr, so I use it now and again to tweak the contrast or tone of a photo, but that's about it. Good program though.

I sure as **** hope you are trolling Bram.

This is what Picnik does to a photo (done purely for demonstration purposes)

Lol thanks for that Tyler, no I am not trolling, I had just never heard of it. I just made room on my computer for an editing program so I was looking around. I know about LR3 just didn't come to mind for some reason.

Just checked the price on Adobe for LR3, $299.00. Really?

If your a student its 100 and its soooo worth it. It is a great program. I use LR3 and PSE8 but will be upgrading that to PS5 because Im a full time student now so price of photoshop is only 199 now.

how do I show that i'm a student though?
I can get this from the adobe website then?

Hey, I once made fast money off of editing a senior shoot that the photog insisted on editing in picnik (they didn't have any other software for PP). Took about a half an hour, made $70 editing them myself. Profit.
