I think these would both benefit from tone mapping. They need more... texture. I seem to associate texture and grittiness with old steam engines, and these shots just seem too.. clean.

That's slightly overdone and tacky, but you get the point.

Nice photos. I have relatives who used to work on trains back when. (1940s-1960s).
