Playing with fire!

Well we just got a good amount of snow here in central VA, My dad had some piles of brush that needed burning. So we through on some winter gear and grabbed the diesel fuel. Took a few pictures.
Tried my hand at some post editing as well with the help of my girlfriend. She has lightroom and I'm enjoying this software. CC is welcome.

that first one is crazy.... is that a bucket of diesel fuel being tossed on the burning fire from the left ? danger danger ... (yes I know diesel is not as combustible as gasoline..but damn !) the photo makes me a little uncomfortable...my mind says DANGER when I see it ! Cool photo for sure ... thanks for sharing

Yes that's diesel being thrown on the fire. I was half tempted to say in my op that I'm aware of the danger factor, but we've been using kerosene and diesel for as long as I've been alive. Thank you for the concern of the danger factor

It's amazing how much a photo in post edit can change. Back to the books to learn more

FYI: I used to burn brush quite a bit and I used a pump-up sprayer for the diesel. Spray the fuel into the bottom of the pile before lighting it. You will seldom need to add any more, but if you do, lean in close to the ground and spray low.

I asked my dad to throw some fuel on the fire for photo ops. The pile was soaking wet from the 8 inches we got the night prior.
