Playing with Light and water

I spent sometime yesterday playing with waterdroplets and coming up with new ideas, or at least something I had not done before.

This is what I ended up with.

Handheld with just the macro extension adapter rings on the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens. Might be worth trying again with a tripod.

My guess would be a light source, a CD, and some water.

CD, under the water ...


Spot on, light source is an off camera flash. Good way to experiment with light and how it changes quite remarkably depending on light source location.

I also love #2. #1 and 3 are a little phallic, IMO. Haha. Maybe it's just meeee...
 
they look fantastic!! love the first one. Did you add anything to the liquid in these images at all? or is it just literally water out of the tap? because ive heard that some people add oil and things like that to make the water "thicker"
