Please help me choose!

Im stuck between getting the tamron 17-50mm 2.8 and the tamron 28-75 2.8. I shoot in a studio and outdoor. I have a crop sensor if that makes a difference. I have a 35mm but I want to sell it because it isn't as wide as I would like it to be for studio work. What do you recommend? Anyone have these lenses?

if 35 ISNT wide enough then your studio isnt big enough. IMO, you shouldnt be shooting wider than 50mm unless you want the wide angle distortion look.

My studio is a good size... I think its 350 square feet. I just like to get full body shots and its a hassle backing up all the way to the other side to get that shot. Especially when I have to move furniture. I shoot a lot in portrait because of this... and I want to shoot in landscape too.
So about the distortion... maybe I should get the 28-75 then?

Then move back. Using wider angle will not look the same and as good as moving back. I am also assuming you are not using on camera flash.

Dude I am also choosing between both lenses! But I am leaning towards the 17-50 and I also have a cropped sensor.

I would get more prime lenses LOL... if you have 35, then get 85 and 50 . Move the freaking furniture.

Id love to get the 85... but there's no way I can use that indoors.

Then I would just stick with 35 or get 50 (will make it worse). You need to build your camera fund to get a full frame. You will need that more than a new lens IMO.

but ive heard nothing but good things about the tamron 28-75. very sharp. never read any reviews of the 17-50. but i want one of the 28-75. price is good to. you can get a 85mm f1.4 from rokinon for about $275. its manual only but they make a chip version for nikon. good lens. very sharp. really nice pop on the colors.

What is wrong with using your 18-55 should work great with studio lights shooting at F8, you don't need a F2.8 lens in a studio
