Honestly for most of my studio work I use the 18-135 kit lens, but if you shoot outdoors I would go with the 28-75. I've got that one, and it's what I use for all of my outdoor shots unless I really need a bigger aperture. f/2.8 at 75mm's can create a nice bokeh as long as the model isn't right up against the background.
