Pocket Wizard Problems - please help!

I think I may have somewhat solved the problem/mystery with them. I'm not 100% sure yet because I want to do a little more testing before I'm convinced, but I think the problem was the fact that I was using regular rechargeable batteries in the FlexTT5s even though I was charging them before every use. I recently purchased some non-rechargeable lithium batteries and have used them continuously in three photos sessions with no problems thus far. If this has solved the function problems with the units, that's great except that now I will have to constantly be purchasing new (and expensive) batteries regularly which is something I hadn't planned to do. It would be great if PocketWizard could correct this flaw by providing rechargeable lithium batteries with every unit and stating the problem on the web site until then.

I need to change my batteries. I've been using the same ones in my PW's for the past several months...

Hi, if you have not discovered these toys tend to use 433Mhz, so when I go up on 433, or you are in a big town, or for that matter anywhere where these frquencies are used then that is exactly the problem you will encounter.
As the radio receiver is not very finely tuned then signals from as far away as 50 miles on possible say 430 M may cause intermittent problems.
If you are near Slough then frankly your kit WILL NOT work reliably. Manufacturers are aware but its a case of buyer beware. Take it back and get some kit for 2400Mhz NOT 433mHz these items are just toys!

No the don't. The op is in the US. Here they use 344-354 MHz.

BTW, you can also ditch the Mini and replace it with yet another Flex (not as small as the mini but at least your back to something that uses standard batteries.)
