I'm not a member of the KmH fan club, HOWEVER he is a very knowledgeable person and his contributions to this forum are certainly worthwhile. I personally think his moderation of this unruly mob is straight down the line. I have yet to see him close a topic that didn't deserve it, I have yet to see him close a topic without giving a reason why. His moderation is fair and it is even. I personally think he should be retained as a moderator.
As to the banning, I saw what happened and he deserved it. He was warned once and then did the same thing in spite.
Many people think that forums are a democracy. They are not. They are privately owned, and the owners of the forum, who are also those who pay the bills, get to set the rules. The forum members agree to abide by the rules when they sign up for membership. They are not asked their opinion of the rules, they are not asked for input on whether the rules should be changed, they are simply given the option of abiding by them or leaving. I agreed to this when I signed up, everyone else did the same thing. If people don't like it the door is in the same place it was when they came in.
Personally I think the rules in place are pretty simple, and they boil down to: Behave yourself, treat others with respect, post only photographs that are yours. Live by those three rules and there won't be any problems. Choose to ignore them and there probably will be.
Just my personal opinion.
The rules have changed over time. That facepalm photo is probably posted in hundreds of threads. Only one resulted in the person being banned.
As far as KMH, the only thing I have ever seen him do is correct grammar, post links to copyright law, post links to the forum rules, or post links to other websites and tell the OP he needs to get to reading.
In any case, this forum has just gotten silly. When this many long time members are upset, there is obviously something going on.
As far as this forum being a democracy, of course it is not...it is something that makes the admin/owners money...this business just happens to be a bit different since
we are the ones providing the content. Without the members, there is no forum. Just something I wanted to remind the admins of...which is why this was posted in the feedback forum. Wasn't necessarily meant for a debate.
