Portrait Critiques?

Hey everyone, I've only been shooting for a couple months and just recently got into photography. Looking for some criticism so I can get better. My Instagram is @andrew_wiesner if you want to get more of an idea of how my stuff looks

If you look at this at 100%, the image is OOF.
Since there was no data with the image, no idea why.
It is over-exposed so all the color is blanched out of his skin.
The background is essentially the same color and tone as his shirt so he melds into it and he is totally expressionless.

I'm not going to click off, but this shot is probably enough to give some critique. When I looked at this, I am instantly focused on the man's skin because it is not the same as his shirt and the background. Just odd. Aside from the focus issue, the shot seems ill-considered in that the man's shirt is the same as the background.

Thanks lew, I'm thinking the photo doesn't have the data since it was uploaded from my iPhone and possibly might be a culprit for the focus? It was shot on a canon dslr though. But I see what you're saying
