Portrait lens?

I'm fairly new to the photography world. I heard there was a macro lens made by canon that was suppose to be superior. I tried to find it on google on some thread but i seem to keep getting a few different options. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience using these macro for portraits. I use a t1i btw

That seems awfully long, especially with the small sensor.

Well it's either that or the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro.

Depending on what type of portrait you want and how much room you have, either would work well on a crop body.
