~Portraits~

Just wondering if these crops made these photos any better. I tried to follow some advice. Also, does anyone like 3 or 4 any better? Thanks.

I think you are off to a great start. I would talk to the kids and let them look at your camera while they talk to you. Generally most kids will give you the best poses when they are left to their own devices and you can get them to interact with you while you are behind the lens. I would focus(no pun intended) on getting the poses and cropping right before I worry about the technical too much. Your shots seem pretty good technically. Clients will be much more impressed with shots that tell the viewer who that child is, than a super tack sharp image and extreme DOF. I am not saying these are not important components (they become more important to you as you progresss), I just think you should hone your artistic talents first before your techinical. Keep it up!! :)
