Powershot A80

I think this is the right place to post this. I would like to start saying that I do not have a lot of experience with cameras. I have a Powershot A80 and I am having trouble with it. The problem is that when I press the button to take a picture the orange light under the flash lights up along with the light next to the viewfinder. It stays like this and say 1/60 and F2.8 at the bottom of the screen. It doesn't flash or take a picture but it just stays like this until I let go of the button.
