Protecting the LCD screen?

I actually invested some money in one of the glass LCD protectors and it was sure worth it

This is like filters or tripods - there are cheap things out there and they might do the job for a while. But won't be great at it and chances are that they will need replacing in time. No point getting cheap protector covers as you have to keep changing them as they tend to scratch up faster and worse than the LCD (yes your LCD is safe, but you can hardly see it through the protector)
However bite the bullet and invest in a more expensive and better model and it can be a valued addition
