Question On Yashica Mat LM

So in the process of going over the Yashica Mat LM I just acquired, checking function. When I cock the shutter, it requires me to push the shutter release button twice to fire the shutter. The shutter seems free and operating as it should. Is pushing the shutter button twice required to maybe activate the light meter????

It has me baffled because other than pushing it twice it seems to work just fine.

Nope, nothing to do with the light meter.
Button presses down on a lever that turns a rotating lever that trips the shutter release lever on the Copal.

I think I read somewhere that this lever can get bent, but what's confusing me is why does it work perfectly every time on the 2nd push.
