Quick shoot on the Railroad tracks

It appears as if the OP is aggressively applying selective noise reduction, where the edges stay sharp but the texture of the background is majorly blurred.

Maybe post the originals without any post-processing. I'd be willing to give input. I know it helps me when people explain what would look better instead of what looks bad.

ps. if I got mad at all the criticism I have received I would probably give up. You gotta take from this huge amount of experience and improve.

AnotherNewGuy is totally right on both counts.

1) Show us how good of a photographer you are, not how well you can control PhotoShop (or whatever PP tool you use). PP should enhance a photo, not take the place of composition lighting and exposure.

2) Don't take criticism personally. We are here to help eachother improve, and we ALL can use improvement. And don't forget, some criticism is subjective; it may not be their personal taste.

You did very well. i would be proud to have taken those shots.
