Thanks to all! They definitely present a challenge without an extremely fast lens, but if it's easy, it becomes boring, right?!?

Try a slower shutter speed and panning... it gives the plane movement which add interest.

an example I dug up from years gone by. by no means an RC plane but the theory is valid all the same.
