rebel xt and 40d compatibility

I just wanted to confirm that lenses fitting the canon rebel xt will also fit the 40d? Also will memory cards and batteries be compatible? Thanks

absolutely. I don't think canon has changed their lens mount in quite a long time. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the lenses that won't work on any of the new cameras are the FD lenses (these might work just without autofocus, I don't know)

yes. The mount on the XT takes the EF or EF-S mount. The 40D takes the same lenses.

Although they both use the same lenses and memory cards (Compact Flash), I do not believe they use the same batteries.
