Recommendations for lenses

Hi guys and girls
I decided to stick with my Sony a300 for the time being as the ISO problem is about the same on canon entry level cameras i can afford.
So can any one put me in the right direction and recommend any lenses that would give me better picture quality?
Looking for a 300mm and a lens about the same as the kit lens, 70mm, but with better performance. Also looking for a macro lense.
The 70mm kit lense is good but sure i could do better.
Mind you, don't have much cash to spend so it would be one lense at a time. can i get good glass for the Sony a300 at a good price?

How much are you looking to spend? Good lenses are pricey. The Sony 300mm f/2.8 lens is about $6000. The Sigma 300mm f/2.8 lens is about $2,950.

Have a look at the sigma 24-70mm f2.8, its good for the price, is a bit soft and can search for focus sometimes but depends what you need it for, no good for sport or anything fast
