Reflections

My personal critique is that I wish I'd switched to my wide angle, I think it would have been better to not have the tree reflection cut off at the bottom of the frame. Doesn't bother me too much, just a little hindsight.

I think i would have cut the top of trees off in camera for more reflection because there is some nice cloud reflection

Nice image but I agree with gsgary... I would have cut the treetops for more reflection.

I also agree with gsgary. The reflections are the true subject. I would have cropped about 1/3 of the trees to increase the reflections. As you said, switching to a wider angle lens would have solved that issue from the start.

Thank you for the comments. I agree that it would have been better with more reflection. I kind of like the diagonal line being in both the treeline and the reflection, so that's why I wish I'd done a wide angle vs just adjusting the framing. Here's another shot that I think I'm liking better.

There's something magical about reflections, makes the viewer take a second look, I really like the b/w choice you've made.

I really enjoy the second image. IMO, it is definitely the better of the two images. I fell like there is a more defined subject, and I like that there is more detail and contrast in the leaves. There's also something about the composition of the second one that gives my eye somewhere to go. Makes me feel like I'm actually there, paddling down the shoreline.
