Reprocessed one of my color shots - would love some C&C

So as suggested, I re-processed one of my earlier posts in B&W.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

It is a sharp shot, interesting geometric pattern, but has nothing special to me.

I liked the color better and a side by side comp would greatly assist us poor memory challenged folks. For me, it is too much right in your face. From a greater distance or at a slight angle, perhaps more likeable.

Sometimes symmetry doesn't work well since symmetry tends to diminish tension and drama in an image.

Converting to B&W may further diminish tension and drama.

The photo was originally taken for a theme of "Symmetry".
It's possible the photo does not have anything to it to stand alone as a decent shot. I'm not sure if it even makes a difference that it was taken for a specific theme.

At any rate, this has definitely been a learning experience.

I like the color better. It is a focused shot, but doesn't do much for me in terms of interest.

I like it, but my eyes are telling me it's upside down. The runs of rust on the rivets are running up. Is it, or am I not seeing the orientation correctly?

It's actually not upside down. There really isn't anything to ground it with the crop I've used, so I can't say I'm surprised by what you've said.

I like the color better, but I don't find either overly exciting. The 4:3 crop bugs me, too, but that's probably just because I'm used to the 3:2.

Good illusion for my eyes. All I can see now is the rust that appears to be running up. Makes me laugh at myself.
