Well I'm about to leave Texas, and I thought my experience wouldn't be complete without a rodeo. Here are a few shots. All of these are ISO 1600 so they may be a bit noisy, especially the ones that got cropped a bit. All shot with Nikon D3100, Nikon 70-300mm VR at about 200mm, f5, and 1/320 to 1/400. I had a great time watching the show, and couldn't wait to see how my pictures turned out. Overall I'm pretty happy, but now I just want a full frame with a faster lens!

Some really great captures! My favorite is #3.

I concur with Jeanelle, #3 takes it. They all are a lot of fun to look at though. Awesome.

Good job on these shots! Indoor rodeos are some of the hardest events to shoot because of the dark lighting and the fast movement of the subjects. AND its hard to get really close. My hat is off to you!

I like #4 and #5 the best, mostly because there are no distracting background elements. #1 and #2 are nice captures, but the wall advertisements bother me - nothing you could've done about that. Nice job using what you have in difficult lighting conditions.

Been in texas 30 years and I've never seen a rodeo

Great shots. I like number 3 as well. Are they all a little underexposed, or is it just my monitor?

They were definitely underexposed when I shot them. I tried to recover as much as I could in PP without creating too much noise, so I left them a little darker.
