Aircraft parts for assembly arrived at Toronto this morning aboard a Russian Antonov AN-124 transport, one of the largest aircraft in the world. These flights have become fairly regular at YYZ and a few days ago I was tipped about the morning arrival.
On short final
Right after touch down it was a race to the infield for taxi shots.
Now that is a wheel chalk. The 124 has an impressive 24 wheels
A set of wings are lowered from the tail section onto a waiting flatbed
Un-hooking the crane
Out comes a section of fuselage
Not bad for a sunny cold morning.
