rusty building and Piasa Bird, Alton IL

thought i'd share a neat little painting they have on the side of some bluffs in alton IL

the bird, dragon, deer, scorpion thingy.... looks weird but the thing is HUGE, pictures doesn't do the size justice, but its all painted on the side of a bluff right next to the Mississippi river on the IL side

just a random building i thought turned out neat after running around some old industrial areas by the river

Indeed, that is one need painting on the side of the bluff. And you are right, as viewers who we've never been there, it is very hard (I'd even say "impossible") to guess the size of it.

That was a nice low sun which illuminated the side of that rusty building and made it look even redder and rustier!

Had a few buddies with me when we went out shooting and they had some GREAT shots of the Piasa "bird" and the warehouse. they both use Nikons cameras but i blame their superior shots to them being better shooters
