Safari in Kenya

Some pics from my Safari in Kenya, unfortunately I only had a not-so-good Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM (last minute solution to an order screw up), quite soft and with a slight front focus problem, but I think I managed to get some decent pictures (I used a Canon EOS 7D). What do you think? More coming if you like them!

I think the softness is due to the lens, don't know if it's my copy or that's the average for this model (Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM), how can I determine that? Plus it has a slight front focus problem, is Canon supposed to fix it on warranty?
I love photography more and more each day, anywhere I go I'm always shooting! I'm thinking of taking a course and trying to get pro!
