saving pictures before upload

well thats the thing, i cant save the edited ones to upload them! the originals are soft like this:

i edited it to be a lost sharper and more crisp but it's not stayin, i'm able to do some sharpening in Flickr to help a little.

Really can't understand why you can't save your edits. First time I've heard of something like this happening. Is this happening in every photo editor you try?

Have you scanned your computer for viruses and malware?

yup everyone, i havent scanned anything yet, maybe i'll run it overnight. its's just bugging me casuse i really love the controls and layout of digital photo pro and the results are great, it just saves it as that weird exif-jpeg and not just .jpg

When I convert and save in DPP, it saves the file as Exif-JPEG too. This just includes the Exif data with the JPEG file. My pictures are saved with all edits done to them.

what do you use when viewing them regularly? the windows program?

I use IrfanView. It can view JPEGs as well as my RAW files.

Sometimes I open ZoomBrowser to view my pictures because it shows the exif data right in the window. I can get the exif in IrfanView but it's in the pulldown menu.

I use the Windows viewer once in awhile, but the images aren't as nice looking as they are in IrfanView.

Another viewer I've used is FastStone Image Viewer.

A lot of people seem to like Picasa 3 to view their images with.

I use Flickr and use their uploader (Flickr Uploadr) to upload pictures to my gallery. Seems to work fine.

but like where do you select the files from when uploding? when i do it it goes through windows, my username, pictures and the folder of the date, which is where they never save the edits. I tried looking for the album in DPP under program files but there wasnt anything. Is there another place i cant ry to save the photos too that flickr will upload from>?

I have a separate hard drive for my RAW files and another hard drive for my edited JPEGs (my computer has 3 hard drives).

When I'm finished editing my images, I save them to my JPEG hard drive in a folder called "Flickr Upload". When I want to upload the pictures, I start up the Flickr Uploadr and then drag and drop the pictures from the "Flickr Upload" folder into the Flickr Uploadr. I then tell the Flickr Uploadr which Set I want to pictures to be put in, or I create a new Set and put the pictures into that one. Then I hit the upload button.

I never use the default save location that the program wants to save my edited files into, I always specify a specific folder that I have on one of my hard drives.

Wow what kind of computer do you have SAM sounds crazy?

And when it saves them as exif.jpg is there a down arrow next to that where you should be able to just select jpg/jpeg?

Oh and screen shots could help us a lot. If you're not sure how to do it just press the Print Screen/SysRq button near the top right of the keyboard just one time and then go into paint or word or something and right click and hit paste and then you can save that and upload it to show us the pictures. I know it sounds like a lot so only do it if you try and try and it still doesn't work.

Wow what kind of computer do you have SAM sounds crazy?

It's nothing special. It's almost 5 years old now and has a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 with 3GB of RAM and a Matrox G550 AGP video card on a ASUS P4P800SE motherboard. It has a Lite-On IDE DVD burner and 3 IDE hard drives...80GB Seagate (WinXP and programs), 250GB Western Digital (JPEG files) and 320GB Seagate (RAW files). I'm gonna build a new up-to-date computer this year to replace this old one.
