he's Hot...

Its nice technically. I think the crop is too tight, would of been a better composure to have more of his shoulders and useing the rule of thirds.

The headgear and goggles tell a story about who he is ... but it is lost without more context.

I agree with the above, a less tight crop would be nice, but I like it as is too!

I didn't read the above.. I think he is too much in the middle and I would tone down the reds just a bit. Otherwise I think it's a great photo, he looks like someone just said something really stupid, or he must just be friends with Bitter .

You also have a tiny bit of sensor dust!!!

Thanks for your responses. As for the crop issue, I did have a bit of an problem with horizontalitis at the time (which is even worse considering my D1X has an integral vertical grip that I forget exists), so what could've ended up as more usable pixels became more green bokeh that I simply hacked off.

@MissCream, good eye. I've been prolonging cleaning that thing for too long. Most of the time I just use Gimp's "heal" tool, but not even using that on this shot is just laziness to an extreme degree.

I this the original crop?

Excuse my ignorance, but if you're asking if this is how the shot was originally composed- it isn't. I'm pretty sure it's the same vertically, but I took some green off of the sides.
If that's not the answer you're looking for, I'd have to trouble you to restate the question.

I have a piece of dust in my lens I just cant get rid of and it looks just like the ones in your picture. I was just wondering if it was the original because you might be able to get a decent portrait crop out of it :)

Nope =/ I'm an idiot so naturally I put the .NEF in the trash after cropping and making some exposure compensation adjustments before compressing into a JPEG. External hard drives are in my future.

@TwoTwoLeft, actually he just landed it. The man was flying a B-17 at an annual WWII convention in my state. You could ride it for a modest $900!

Don't know why but when I saw him I was imagining an Austrailian bush pilot flying a pontoon plane.
