Selective coloring

Thanks for the tip. I went out to the driveway and photographed my own flagpole and selectively colored it as shown in the article. Thanks.

Great technique. I am no expert yet. I think it is a cool idea. I see nothing wrong with showing what you learned from the thread. Have a good day.
 
I guess even in this im old school. I start with a black and white negative and color it one color at a time with a tint brush program. But I do love this technique rather than color film.

My problem is usually with the black and white around it. Most of the time I find the black and white image rather flat. In other words it wasn't a good black and white image first then colored. It was a bare adaquate black and white image someone was trying to save. I've done it myself so I understand that as well. The black and white image, in my opinion, should be contrasty and chrisp just as it would be if stand alone.
