Self Portraits

Finally used the remote for my cam today. Struggling with getting it to focus where I want it to with the self portraits.

I like number 2. It's a tad oof and could use some processing to make it a tad less flat, but I like it over the others. Number 1 is my second choice. 3 could be good if it were cropped differently, for some reason the crop kills it for me. 4 is ok, fun shot, but it seems bright to me on bottom left then fading to dark upper right, kinda makes it not good for me. seems like wb is a tad off on all

I think a simple quick wb adjust and levels adjust could improve all greatly.

Thanks. Yeah the wb was driving me nuts. I think I forgot to adjust it from the last time I used the cam.

Yeah, I struggle with getting focus when doing self portraits as well. But I don't do it very often as I don't really like having my picture taken.

I like them all though they are a bit cold and soft. #2 is probably my favorite but I like #3 as well - I'm a fan of the close crop. I'm not sure what your settings were but maybe try again at f/7.1 or f/8 to help with focus. You are photogenic with very pretty eyes - let's get those babies in focus!

Here is a couple diff plays I did while waiting for my Game of Thrones download.

Regular with a high pass filter with vivid setting to sharpen a tad, and a wb and level adjust






same as above with other stuff to spiffy up, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not really...but some women like it. lol

I like the edit. You use LR or PS? Eventually I will get one or the other for now just Picasa.

used cs6 on those, it's what I had opened at the time, but I use both. LR for workflow and PS for single images. I could give ya a total photoshop mask if ya like...lol. I try to live by "less is more" lately...lol I have given out wayyy tooo many masks in the past doing what I thought was a slight "soften" feel. bwahahahah

Thanks. I prefer less editing as well. Although I will do minor retouching here and there.

You have a nice complexion and great eyes, so too much processing would ruin it. You'd lose your freckles. lol ;-)
