Selling photography online?

This sounds kind of lame, but since I'm just a serious amateur and have no intention of becoming a professional, I was looking to maybe make some money by selling some of my pictures online. I was looking at this site.

Are they reputable and is it worthwhile to try uploading some of my pictures there?

Also, how do these sites work in terms of you uploading your images elsewhere? Like if I put my pictures on my flickr account too, would that be a problem?

ALWAYS read the Terms of use... If you're in doubt, you can always contact the staff there and ask them what you want. It's far more reliable than waiting for someone from forum to reply. Even if someone from here had an experience with them, terms of use can change anytime and they maybe won't have the most recent info.

It all depends on what kind of images you'd like to try selling online. I use photoshelter as my business website, it works very well, doesn't cost a fortune, they do take a piece of the monthly sales as well as the monthly fee as the host. What you would have to do is keyword all the photos so they hopefully show up online, and so that the search engine on the site can find them. It's time consuming and you'll have to keep adding to the image stock, so potential buyers would keep coming back. If you're hoping to sell, birds, trees, flowers, bugs, sunsets, cats, dogs etc, be prepared to compete against tens of thousands of other people that are trying to sell the same.

IMO, selling to 'sites like that isn't worth the effort. The stock image world is so over-saturated now that to even make a few dollars a month you have submit hundreds, if not thousands of images.
