Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I shot this a couple days ago because the lighting caught my eye. I didn't really spend too much time on this scene (shot three photos total!) but when I was looking at my photos afterwards, this one really actually caught my eye. I remember when I shot it, the area around me just flat out stunk like piss. It was absolutely atrocious, but then I started thinking about how the lighting fits perfectly with the scene. Juxtaposition of dark vs. light reflecting the divide between poor vs. rich. So this pic is from the POV of a homeless person ... just some thoughts.

This shot probably is more an abstract / focus on lighting on its own, though. The picture can't stand alone -- i.e., I wouldn't expect a viewer to draw those conclusions based on the picture alone :)

While it's difficult for me to understand it was a homeless' POV (until you said it), I like the hard light/shadow contrast. Just a slight slight tilt to my eyes (to the left).

I like this a lot. It has some strong lines and tonality and a definite mood. The POV you mention didn't occur to me (first thing in my mind was the film The Third Man) so I don't think it's essential to the image working. It could be seen as a generic outsider's view.

Yeah, I agree with @KenC. I can see the generic outsider's view, but I'm kind of scratching my head at:

I would need much more in the photo to come to that conclusion by myself.

Otherwise, nice photo.

+1

I think the image can stand alone just based on the great lighting and strong lines. Unfortunately, digital photography is unable to capture smells ... if it could ... I think the homeless/poor/rich POV be much more evident.

I really like the shot and you shooting from such a low angle is a testament to your photographic vision.

I like the texture and tones in this. I am left to imagine... and when that happens I find a photograph far more interesting than the usual cliché.
