Sharp or soft?

Any feedback on the sharpness of this image keeping in mind its been resized.

The parts that are in focus, appear to be very sharp. Personally, I'd like to see a little more DOF, so that more of the flower was in focus/sharp.
 
Part of the flower is soft because you have used a relatively long focal length (70mm) and been pretty close to the subject and a relatively large aperture of f5.6 (1/640th sec shutter speed).

You could have stopped down to f8 and perhaps stood back a litte (using a slightly longer focal length). this would have got more of the flower in focus (if that's what you wanted).
 
That's exactly what i wanted. Thanks a lot for the feedback. That flower hasn't gone anywhere so im gonna try and take it again using those tips. Thanks a lot :)
 
Ok i went back and tried again, this time using more depth of field. I'm using the kit lens that came with my alpha so 70mm is the best i can do there. I think this one does look sharper though.
