Spent the whole day at ISO 1600 which is much more use-able than 800 was on my D300... Just tough crappy lighting all day. Comments welcome as always...

My normal spot seems to have 3 Great Horned Owls now. Caught this one lifting off but it was underexposed my 1-2/3 stops, I was shocked I was able to get this much out of it...

Later on I found this beautiful Juvenile Red Shouldered Hawk being mean and vicious and plucking earthworms out of the ground like a Robin would...

Saw my first Hood Mergansers of the year too...

That sensor delivers clean images at 1600. If the owl was minus 1.66 or so and you got that much out of it, wow...quite good. It's a great time to be a Nikon digital shooter.

OK, it was really +1.55 in LR I was shooting in manual with Auto ISO capped at 1600...
This was the original mess..

Love 3 and 4, those not so perfect reflections help add movement to the image. Even at 1600 the quality is good nicely done!

Love #3 well done

Nice set. Are you going after the Fork-Tailed Flycatcher that's down your way?
