Shooting in the rain question

So I want to shoot in the rain, shall I bring my umbrella with me or not? Shall I get a white umbrella or a black one? Shall I bring my tripod?

Get one of those umbrella hats so you have both hands available. Sky Blue Folding Umbrella Hat with Adjustable Headband

Since the umbrella won't have any effect on the scene you're shooting, unless you're doing macro work, the umbrella color is pretty much irrelevant.
